…Unless You’re No Older Than 2
If you haven’t looked at network marketing in the 21st Century, you haven’t looked at network marketing. Technology has changed everything about this industry and for those who swore they’d never look at another MLM for as long as they live, it’s time to get out of your own way and look again.
Set your preconceived notions aside long enough to understand why Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump, and even Bill Clinton are recommending network marketing as a viable and lucrative opportunity for anybody willing to roll up their sleeves, learn how to leverage today’s technology, and pass that information on to others willing to do the same.
21st century network marketing is not a game – it’s a business. However, with the advent of social media it also happens to be a hell of a lot of fun. And if you like online gaming, you’ll find that few games are as addicting as sitting in front of your PC (or MAC) and watching live data depicting traffic moving through your marketing funnels in real time – target a new pay-per-click keyword, or tweet a YouTube video out to your followers and watch your traffic flow in a whole new direction. It’s like Sim City!
Okay, I take it back. It is a damn game, but the money it pays out to those who learn to play is big business.
Are You Skeptical?
Of course you are, and that’s healthy. But once-skeptical people just like you (and that list includes me) are now screaming from the mountain tops, “This Ain’t Your Daddy’s MLM!” What’s changed? Um…pretty much everything.
For decades, this industry required an unrelenting pursuit of others in order to be successful – not any more. For decades, this industry produced business models that required an aggressive competitiveness amongst its most successful distributors – those days are gone. And for decades, this industry brought dish soap and vacuum cleaners to the marketplace – today you can purchase nearly anything you want from your local global network marketer and more often than not it makes damn good sense to do so.
Technology Has Completely Changed the Way the Game is Played
If you’ve ever been in network marketing, you’re surely familiar with the more traditional methods of building an organization: writing a list of everybody you have ever met; inviting those folks to hotel meetings or home business presentations; 3-foot rule (striking up a conversation with anybody within three feet of yourself); 3-way phone calls. Well, as uncomfortable as methods such as these may seem, countless individuals have built million-dollar organizations doing just that.
But today, thanks to technology, we have many more options available and the options we have are way more efficient (and comfortable) than these old-school techniques. Plus, you wont piss people off or alienate your friends.
Every one of those old-school techniques is about you pursuing others. The premise behind their success is that by introducing your opportunity to everybody you have ever known and will ever meet, surely you’ll find some “yeses” amongst an ocean of “nos.” Like I said, it works. But let’s take a look at how technology can improve your odds by allowing pre-qualified, interested prospects to pursue you rather than you pursuing everybody else.
Attraction Marketing
It’s called attraction marketing. The fact is that millions of people around the world are interested in making a better life for themselves and they often turn to the Internet in search of solutions. By making yourself publicly available on the Internet (through a variety of techniques) these people can find you. By providing value – real value – in the form of information and training, people will be attracted to you. The funny thing is that it has nothing to do with your network marketing opportunity – it’s all about the value you have to offer.
We live in the information age and those who are armed with information and knowledge (that has value to others) stand to do very well for themselves. Yes, I am a network marketer but that’s not where my value lies. I also happen to be very well versed in many aspects of online marketing – from social media to video; from search engine optimization to pay-per-click. I understand how to construct effective marketing funnels. Most people will still say “no” to my primary opportunity, but I know how to monetize those folks while developing strong and lasting relationships along the way. This is where my value lies, because marketers the world over – as well as those wanting to leverage technology to create a better life for themselves and their families – need this information more and more every day.
By sharing this information with those seeking it, I develop strong relationships built on trust. People come to see that I am not a guy asking, “what’s in it for me?”, but rather, “how can I be of service to you?” Eventually, many of these people will become interested in knowing how network marketing fits in to the big picture and I’ll tell them. It is from this group that I build an effective, well trained organization of entrepreneurs fully prepared to go out and serve others. Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about!
Robert Kiyosaki: The Perfect Business
Even though technology has changed the way the network marketing game is played, the core benefits of network marketing have remained very much the same. Nobody explains these benefits better than self-made billionaire and best-selling author (Rich Dad, Poor Dad), Robert Kiyosaki. Robert sites excellent training, tax benefits, leverage, and teamwork among the many benefits of network marketing.
The video is nearly 10 minutes long, but the information is gold whether network marketing is your bag or not. The point is that none of us are trapped in our current situations except for in our own minds. Opportunity exists for every single person that chooses to try something new and is willing to learn the skills necessary to migrate from employee to entrepreneur. As Robert clearly explains, employees seek out financial security. Entrepreneurs, however, seek out time and financial freedom. In network marketing, those interested in making the shift will find scores of patient, yet knowledgeable entrepreneurs available to help them get from point A to point B. It really is The Perfect Business.
Still Not Convinced?
That’s cool. I’m not here to convince anybody. I am simply here to expose people to opportunities that have changed my life. I associate with some of the most generous, honorable people I have ever known on a daily basis – people who over the course of a few short years (shorter in some cases) have secured time and financial freedom for their families simply by helping others to do the same. They are living lives full of the best life has to offer, and they are building a legacy for their children and grand children. I’m with them!
I still have my day job, but the end is in sight. I’m not interested in Obama’s jobs bill. I’m interested in entrepreneurship. Trying to convince those that see it differently is a waste of my time. Educating those who share my values, however, is much more than a service – it’s my duty.
Rock on and remember – keep moving forward,

Eric,
What a great post and this guy you write about is our ALL TIME FAVORITE MENTOR! As a matter of fact, the book you have at the top “Why We Want You To Be Rich” was our first grain of sand in what is now ocean front property.
Funny seeing this post after what just happened earlier. While out shopping with my daughter and not having a lot of money to spend on her Mother’s (Dawn) Birthday tomorrow, we went to the dollar store. After picking up a couple of things I walked by the book section. Now most of the time it’s a bunch of junk but today was a good find! What do you think it was? You guessed it, “Why We Want You To Be Rich.” Hardcovers in perfect condition! A $24.97 book for ONLY $1.00 The book that changed my life for only $1. I bought all 25 of them. Would have been 26 but a lady was asking me if it was any good. lol For ONLY $1 it may just change that lady’s life.
We’ll be passing them out to our downline or anyone who just needs a little help or direction in life!
