Get Knowledge! Take Action!

Me with Blog Mentoring Guru and Personal Development Coach, Katie Freiling

You may look all over my blog for information, and that’s great! But, if it is advice you’re looking for, “Get Knowldge! Take Action!” is the best I’ve got.

Let Me Set the Stage

I entered the network marketing industry just over a year ago because I was introduced to a company that I immediately fell in love with. Soon after (and I mean like within hours) I was told I needed to start writing my friends list, so I did. And if you have ever met me, you can bet your booty you were on that list

I went to meetings and workshops, and I was inspired every time because I saw success all around me, and I never stopped believing in the vision of my company. But, as an Internet developer I couldn’t help but think that there had to be a better way to build a 21st century network marketing organization and the Internet itself seemed like the way to go.

So, in August of 2009 I sat in front of my PC with visions of changing the network marketing industry forever. Within five minutes of beginning my research before hunkering down to create the ultimate, automated system (with which I have a lot of experience) I discovered Mike Dillard through the blog of Cindy Youngblood (a colleague of mine who apparently has similar aspirations – actually, we’re buds now and she’s knockin’ my socks off).

I Got Knowledge

My initial reaction of, “Damn! Mike Dillard stole my idea” was immediately followed by, “Sweet! The system has already been built!” By the end of the day, I had purchased Mike’s industry bible, Magnetic Sponsoring; his famous Building on a Budget Course; and I picked up a copy of Mike Dillard’s and Mark Weiser’s Blackbelt Recruiting. I recommend them all.

For the next few week’s I scoured the Internet sucking up information like a crusty old sponge being reintroduced to water. God only knows how many blogs I visited, but one dude stuck out and kept popping up as I researched – Will Schwartz. I opted-in to his training and continued to be so drawn to him that I picked up the phone and called him. Great guy. Great conversation.

On September 22, 2009 Will forwarded an email to me, that he had received from a guy named Jonathan Budd, indicating that that very night there would be an industry shattering webinar with Jonathan and his good buddy Mark Hoverson. This video was attached in the email as a teaser (worth a peek). I attended the webinar that night, and before the night was over I had dropped $497 on a webinar series that would last the next 12 weeks, “The Pay-Per-Click Mastery Intensive.”

You Want Knowledge?

You might be thinking, “this dude Eric either has money comin’ out of his wazoo, or he has a serious budgeting problem.” Remember, I bought Mike Dillard’s Building on a Budget for a reason – I’m on a tight one! However, I heard Jonathan Budd say the following and I believe it with all of my heart. And, by the way, this is the take away from this entire post:

“Knowledge, OK? Acquiring knowledge is the single most important thing that you can do to increase your value and build your business.” – Jonathan Budd

I’m sure he went on to say that the knowledge is worthless if you fail to take the action to back it up – or somethin’ to that effect.

If that rings true for you (and I can’t imagine that it wouldn’t) and you’re not already a member of The 7-Figure Networker System, I invite you to listen to Jonathan himself explain why his system is an essential tool for any truly dedicated 21st century network marketer. I’m in, and I’d love to see you inside and introduce you to thousands of 21st century network marketers who share your values and are indeed changing the way our industry game is being played. Check it out! You want knowledge? This is the place to start.

So, What’s This got to do with Katie Freiling?

Eric Fagerstrom and Mark Hoverson

Me with Superstar Copyrighting Magician Mark Hoverson

After twelve weeks of intense learning with Mark Hoverson and Jonathan Budd, they decided to do something they’d never done before – A Mansion Mastermind Event in sunny San Diego, California. There would only be room for twenty, and with JBudd, Mark, Katie, and Aaron Fortner (who, by the way, is THE MAN) on hand for three full day’s of intense mentoring, I knew the competition would be tough. However, I filled out their lengthy, thought provoking application knowing that my chances of being chosen from the thousands that would be exposed to the opportunity would be slim indeed.

But, you know what? Aaron Fortner called me and said, “You are exactly what we are looking for. Can you afford to come?” I replied, “Can I afford not to?” There really wasn’t any option in my mind. I have dedicated myself to success for my family, myself, and those whose lives I touch. If I had said, “Geez, thanks Aaron but I’m all set” what would that have said about my dedication, determination and commitment? I was going to San Diego, no doubt!

It’s Time to Take Action!

The last 5 months have been insane! I have read more, listened to more, and watched more training-related information than you can imagine (unless you’re as passionate about your success as I am about mine). Acquiring knowledge is a life-long process and I am looking very forward to learning and sharing the lessons with all who are eager to do the same.

But, it is time for me to take the immense amount of information I have acquired up to this point and put it into action. I invite you to watch, and I hope to inspire. Come back and check on me or subscribe to my blog. I’ll tell you what’s working and what’s not. Besides that, I am going to be blogging about every stinkin’ little trick, tip, and secret that I discover along the way and you’re not going to want to miss out on that!

Remember – those that succeed simply do what those that fail will not do.

Don’t Wait Around for Perfection – Just Do It!

Eric Fagerstrom and Jonathan Budd

Hands on with the 7-Figure Networker himself - Mr. Jonathan Budd

If you’re reading this post around the day it was posted, you may notice that my blog has issues. I have broken links, very little content and pages that have nothing on them at all. I am currently offering an eBook that isn’t even complete yet (the opt-in form doesn’t work either). I have links pointing to social media that I have done nothing about setting up. Does this stuff bother me? – absolutely!

But if I waited until all of this stuff was just the way I wanted it, my blog would be on perpetual standby. We all have to start somewhere – it’s starting that is truly important. I have videos to create, campaigns to write, tweets to tweet, and the list goes on. If you’re catching me early on, feel free to connect with me everywhere and watch my system unfold.

One Final Word – Accountability

Another hidden bonus from the Mansion Mastermind Event is that I have Jonathan Budd, Aaron Fortner, Mark Hoverson, Katie Freiling, twenty other rock stars who were my piers for this event (The Coronado Crusaders), and now you that I am accountable to. Accountability is HUGE! You want some motivation? Tell everybody what you are going to do, whether it be to quit smoking, lose weight, or build a million dollar organization.

Be gutsy. Be accountable. Tell us all what you’re going to do in a comment below. We’ll watch you; encourage you; support you when you stumble and celebrate your successes. This is a community and I appreciate you being a part of it.

8-) Rock on and remember – keep moving forward,

Eric Fagerstrom

Hey Eric,

How could I not comment, what an awsome post. When I launched my blog I was the same, things not complete, offering a course that I hadnt finished writing lol..but you know I just had to put it out there. It doesnt have to be perfect you just have to take action.

I am extremely jealous that you got to hang out with all these guys. I live in the UK so I feel a little out of the loop with the timezones sometme but I am making it work and I will get to San Diego one of these day.

I wish you well on your journey, you have certainly made a fantastic start.

Give me a shout sometime, I would love to connect.
Yours in Success,

Beth -
Thank you so much for the encouragement!

Hangin’ out and learning from these guys for 3 full days was worth every stinkin’ penny. The only thing better was the fact that 20 other rock stars were out there enjoying it with me. We’ll be friends forever, and I’ll be hooking up with Budd, Freiling, Fortner, and Hoverson again too.

I have 1 friend in London. We’ll have to see if you know her. Thanks again Beth :D

Fagerstrom! This is one Awesome post!

I feel your passion! It’s crawling everywhere in here!

I’m really proud of you for not waiting ’til your blog was filled with content. Our work will NEVER get DONE! That’s one of the things we love about this industry, or life for that matter…which is constant change.

Don’t Wait Around for Perfection – Just Do It!, right?

Sooo looking forward to learning more from you, Eric.

Sincerely and truly, you couldn’t have added more on this post to make it more complete.

And meeting all of my Coronado Crusader friends is by far the best thing that has happened to me since I entered the entrepreneurial world!

I am so glad I invested in Jonathan Budd & Mark Hoverson’s San Diego Summit!
We not only learned soo much but made 20 new lifelong friends for life! Now, that’s priceless stuff! Plus meeting Budd, Hoverson, Fortner, Katie was like a dream come true…like walking down the red carpet!

It was worth WAY more than platinum!

But getting back to the last thing I wanted to end with:
“Learn more to earn more!”

Can’t wait to come back and read your next post!
Yes, I AM holding you accountable… 8)

Smiles from Guam,
Jaclyn

Hey mate,

Just read this post and as usual, you spur me on to action whenever I see the progress you’ve made on your blog. My story is so similar to yours that I see you as a peer by which to measure my progress against.

I feel fortunate to have made the connection with you on a personal level and I know it’s going to be the start of a long association.

To those that don’t know, I’m one of the lucky 20 who joined Eric on that amazing weekend in San Diego, and like Eric, experienced a once-in-a-lifetime event that will change our lives forever. For not only did we spend one-on-one time with some of the world’s best network marketers, immersing ourselves in their drive and passion for what they do, but we also had the opportunity to interact and form incredibly strong bonds with a bunch of driven, like-minded individuals from around the world.

We were all brought together because of our individual desire to take the leap into the unknown, and as a result, we are reaping the benefits as a reward.

Eric, you hit the nail on the head when you say “Don’t wait for perfection – just do it”, and for me, this is particularly relevant. I’m also a bit of a “perfectionator” (perfectionist/procrastinator) – a term I’ve coined to describe myself.

So I’d love to write more, but I’ve got work to do…. ;-)

See you on our next Tribe pow-wow…

Perfectionator??!! Perfect! My wife thanks you for discovering the perfect term to describe me…or at least to describe the former me.

There is no time for perfection and procrastination in this industry mate, just determination and drive. We’ll perfect ourselves along the way. Perhaps we’ll have to start a bloody support group for other perfectionators out there. If you’re in perfectionator crisis at any time, call the hotline. I’ll be there for ya ;)

G’day,
-E
